adding vance&hines, hypercharger & power commander

Howdy, I own an 07 Vulcan Nomad and this past winter I added Vance&Hines exhaust, hypercharger and a DynoJet power commander. The difference in performance is great , however I have lost 100 KMS per tank full . My question is simply this , can the power commander be set so I can get a little more mileage.

Yes.

Did you use a "borrowed" map, or did you have your bike mapped on a dynomometer?

I should have said I had it done. I am not sure, however the tech also races. Maybe he thought HP was what I was after. Just thought I would check before I take it back.

Well there's about a $300 difference between getting someone else's map and having your bike dynoed. At least there should be something on your bill if they did it.

Your mileage shouldn't have dropped that much from what it was. Most Nomads get about 160-200 miles to the tank in most cases. I have V&H pipes and a PC also and usually get 170-180 miles to the tank.

my 06 1600 never got more than 125 Miles til the light came on - or 200 Km with the V & H / PCIII / K & N! It was set up by so called professional's. Before the mod's light would come on @ 160 ish or 260 Km. After removing the PCIII & V & H mufflers ( keeping front pipes and installing Harley FLH 1 baffle removed mufflers) light comes on @ 150 ish or 240 Km, and bike now has the Premuix faring / lowers / trunk and lots more stuff hanging off it!

Hey Rewindgy, I am having the same problem. I have the V & H pipes and that power commander and the light comes on around 115 mi. So can I just remove the power commander? Do I have to reset the idle? What is the procedure in doing this.

thanks

With 1/2 Cadd, TFI, and V&H my light comes on at 120-140 miles depending on wrist action.

I think its a 5 US gallon tank, it holds 19 litres when empty which is 4.2 CDN gallons. I don't think they make a 6 gallon tank unless its aftermarket. My light usually comes on about 135-145 mile mark.

To remove the Power Commander you have to remove the fuel tank, Unplug the plugs that go to each fuel injector, and plug in the factory plugs that go to each injector. Thats it your done, You can leave the other wire that goes to the TPS connected, and leave the PC unit where its mounted, unless you want to permanantly remove it from the bike.

Thanks alot, Ring. Sounds like a job I will be doing in the near future. Oh ya, do I have to drain the tank? Will the fuel-air mixture change, Is there any adjustments in the idle to be made?

I have V & H's pipes, TCI, and a thunder (Odyssey) air kit and I get around 130 to 145 miles before the light comes on.
