Dont some of the 900's and mean streak's have 21" wheels? or some of the vtx hondas
I have thought about finding one and retrofitting it onto my bike

The mean streak is only a 17" and the 900 only has a single rotor. If you find something that would work easily enough, let us know!

21 inch wheel

I put a 21 inch DNA wheel on my 02 nomad. I got the adapters and spacers from scootworks. I didnt have to move the fender there was clearance but i did have to get a machinists to open the spacers up a tad. I have a picture of my bike in my photo album.

Looks good. I take it that the fender was narrowed/sectioned then?

No. its the stock fender and there was room for the tire.

I get that it fit height-wise. The fender looks like it's narrower than stock. That's why the question.

Stock usually mean without changes. So I'm assuming he hasn't done anything to the fender.

After doing a bit more research, the adapter offered by scootworks is designed for the 1500 rotor/rim/forks and it doesn't look like it will work for the 1600.

The handling hasn't been affected at all. The rim is a 21 x 3.5, so it fits the fender well. The bumps on the rode haven't changed the way the bike feels. However, the steering is easier. The one thing i need to do is lower the front of the bike about an inch because the larger wheel changed my center of gravity and it takes a while to adjust.

Found another Nomad with a large front wheel using google images. I'm in the process of contacting the owner and will encourage him to join VBA.

Notice he has removed the right caliper/rotor and the fender.

As cool as it looks I gotta say............not a big fan of losing 50% of the braking on the front. It's already a lot of bike to slow down with all the calipers functioning. I think I'd miss the front fender as well. Then again I've always been a proponent of function over form rather than the other way around.

Definitely something to consider! If it's possible to add a 3 or 4 piston caliper to the left side, it probably wouldn't be too bad.
