Yep Mark, bad things do happen. I would agree with starting to look for a new (used) motor and just do a swap.

unknown motor jared in an accident, or one that's been babied since new, only has 24K, and fix a couple of oopsies? I'm going to wait till I hear the estimate before I even try to decide.

I dropped Grace off at the dealer this morning. Lead man said ± $300.00 just for the news. I didn't get a call today, so I'm hoping for news tomorrow.

I'm hoping it's repairable and affordable. . . Replacement isn't an option until October or November. That's prime riding season here, but I really don't want to go most of the summer borrowing my wife's motorcycle to get a ride in.

If replacement/repair costs are close, I might wait for the "Fall installment" and just go get something new.

Damn Mark....just caught this thread. Got my fingers crossed for you buddy. I knew you had some probs from Facebook....but had not heard the blow-by-blow account until reading your post. Is it still under an extended warranty? That sucks....I can't even imagine....nor do want to, I have another big ride coming up next month. Keep us posted and with any luck, (hopefully you used up your bad luck) it won't be as bad as you think....

Man, that is indeed bad news, hope the prognosis is not too serious and you can be back on the road again soon.

I hope that experience never happens to me, as Nomad's here in Oz are nowhere near as popular as they are in the US. I would definitely be up for a new bike as the repair cost would far exceed it's value. Second hand parts for any Kawa 1600 here are as rare as rocking horse dung!!

All the best Mark, we all eagerly await the news!!
