Tire psi

I put 40 F and 40B for psi all last summer. Some ppl told me the pressure is to high on front. Since psi is so important +or - a few pounds, I was wondering what most of you guy's run for psi. I have an 06 Nomad.

I check what the tire sidewall says in "max" pressure and then drop 2 psi. Front and rear..........tires seem to wear better and work well at higher pressure. JMO

On my 08 Nomad I ran 40 psi front and rear. Great tire wear at that pressure.

my front sidewall "max" says 805 LBS at 42 psi cold, so putting in 40 psi cold to me seems a bit much, maybe there's a youtube on this

found a youtube on tire pressure, and he begins by saying that the correct tire pressure can be found on the sidewall of your tire,,,, then says he is WRONG!

so here we go, according to what he says, the correct tire pressure for my bike can be found on the frame sticker on my motorcycle, which says, up to 215 LBS load 28 psi when cold for front and 32 for rear. and I had been putting in 32F and 36R, so I was way off

On my Bridgestones I ran 36/42 psi. Last Spring I had Avon Cobras put on and Avon's recommendation was 40/42. My scooter handles magnificently at those pressures. I have a TPMS also and when running hot they are at 45/48 psi. Whatever tires you have I would recommend calling the manufacturer, (not just a shop) and get their recommendation for your tire.

you should read all the comments on that video, everyone has a recommendation on what to believe, i think that I might go on there and recommend everyone fill your tires with cement and end all this madness

As bad as an oil thread!

No sticker or engineer can tell you what psi will work best for you.

It depends on where you are, what the roads are made of, your riding style...

Are you more concerned with the ‘feel’ or longevity?

Down here 28-30 psi, cold works for me, the feel is just right.

Longevity is reduced, but it sure rides smooth.

Back in NC it was right about 35psi that was the sweet spot.

It might not work for you.

maybe it is gospel or maybe it's not, but I might go with what MT just said, that it's a feeling of what's right
