Saddlemen Explorer vs. Mustang vs. Stock Seat:

Hello everyone. Does anyone have experience with all three of these seats? I am planning on buying a Mustang Wide seat for my Vulcan 1500 Nomad this Spring, but just found the Saddlemen Explorer studded seat on ebay for the same price. I am wondering how they all compare to each other. I was a big fan of my Mustang seat on my Honda Shadow ACE Tourer, but have no experience with the Saddlemen. I am particularly interested in the passenger comfort for 2 up riding as the passenger seat on the Saddlemen looks to be much smaller (more narrow) than the stock and Mustang. About 80 percent of my riding is 2 up and want to make sure my babys butt stays comfy for the long rides. Thanks for any info/opinions you can give me.

I put a Mustang wide on my 2001 and my wife loves it. Haven't any experience
with other seats.

I have always been satisfied with my Mustang seat.

Thanks for the opinions. Anyone else with first hand experience with the Saddlemen?

My wife loved the Daylong seat on the Nomad. So much so that when we got a Voyager the first mod the wife asked me to get was Daylong seats.
There is nobody I know on any forums I visit that has been unhappy with a Daylong seat. Spend the extra money upfront and get a seat that works for the majority.

I have had Saddlemen gel pads, Airhawk air cushions, OEM gel seats and Mustang seats and none work as good for me as a Daylong seat.

For my Nomad 1500 the Mustang with rider's backrest was superb, for both rider and passenger, and for long, full days of riding.

That seat was every bit as good as the RDL we now have on the Voyager... Mustang missed the mark for the Voyager though, by a decent margin.

Guess the Mustang is the safest bet considering the opinions expressed. What exactly is the Daylong and what is the price?

I shipped them my OEM seat from NZ, and back. Not cheap, and not the best looking seat in the world... but entirely worth every penny. But like I said before - the Mustang seat with rider's backrest that we had on our 1500 (the same as Larry's bike) was an awesome seat as well. Every bit as good as the RDL on the Voyager, and much better looking
