VIN location

I have a 2004 Nomad and am wondering if the VIN is located anywhere other than the sticker on the right side frame down tube?

My guess is that someone would ask if there are more than one place for VIN for several reasons.

1) if the original VIN numbers are missing on the right side frame downtube.
.
2) If someone wanted to make sure all VIN numbers are removed making the bike untraceable ?

Hence the statement by degreaser, "I am a bit suspicious" ?

I confess to #2, and why is #1 missing original VIN? to me I confess that #1 and #2 makes me suspicious

To answer suspicions I hit a deer with my right side engine guard and his head wiped out some of the sticker. The VIN is still there however I do some Iron Butt style competitions and sometimes they verify the VIN by looking at the sticker so if the sticker ever comes off I point them to another location to find it. My guess is that it has to be stamped somewhere on the bike.

There should be a decal on each side and the VIN should be on the neck in the metal.

What MAS Said! Stickers on downtubes, and stamped on steering neck. If you do any kinda custom work where the # is removed, make a tag, stamp it on tag, but before you remove them, take pics and keep these with your title.
Some folks tape off the tags when custom painting, I think they look like crap, so I removed them with that spray-on decal remover from O'Reillys.
Replacement necks come with MSOs....Manufactures Statement Of Origin....
When I had my bike custom painted, I removed the frame sticker and put it with title. State Patrol insisted on a stamped tag on the frame (my frame has been smoothed and detailed)....so I made one, had them OK it before installation....

my suspicious nature accepts your story of the deer, partly because I went on google and typed in, 'is there deer in wolfe city texas'

I'd be suspicious if it were a new member with one post. Get that on the atv site all the time.

"Got a used quad with no key, need to know how to hotwire it"

I've had to delete replies and explain you're giving them the "how to's" on stealing a person's quad. Sadly, a quick google search would most likely get them the wiring diagram they need.

Thats a scarey thought having a deer take you off your bike. I've known on guy that hit a cow down in OK, totaled the bike, messed him up, bigtime.
Now, there was a lady that had a buffalo up around Sturgis attack her Superglide, she wasn't on it, but standing there in a group of other riders.
Out of the middle of this field this buffalo came acharging, ran thru the fence, started stomping this bike. She got too close, and hurt her.
Thought it was total BS until I met the dealership manager back when I was a dealership Mechanic attending a factory course for new models up in Milwaukee.
Life can be stranger than fiction....

I know a guy that was hit by a deer on his Yamaha Raider.
He broke some ribs and the bike was totaled.
He replaced the totaled Yamaha with a brand new Nomad so it wasn't all bad :)
