SCRATCHES IN PAINT ON VULCAN NOMAD

My neighbour just purchased a 2006 Vulcan Nomad and it has a number of scratches on it from the previous owner. Does anyone know of a really good product that I can pass on to him to remove the scratches/swirls etc on his bike. He is very particular about his bike/vehicles and when he went to clean it noticed a lot of areas needing attention. Any suggestions to pass on to him. Thanks very much! Den

There is a product called claybar that is very good for removing scratches. There are also some swirl mark removal products that help as well.

Ring has it if it is only clear coat deep. What color is it? black, or green and silver?

If it's through the clear, I don't think you're gonna be able to do much. If it's in the clear than you could carefully sand with a 2000 grit and shine it with a buffer.

I find the clear coat on the Nomad relatively soft as clear coats go. It scratches easily, but also buffs out easily. If as already stated the scratches are not through into the base coat, then Mothers scratch and swirl remover works well.

The best thing for scratches is to get on the bike and ride it like there is no tomorrow

Scratches are character that is earned while putting on some miles and enjoying life.

If he's that particular about is bike/vehicles, maybe he should have bought an HD. They are built for show and shines

Yeah Bandit has it. I cut thru the saddle bag with my sandy boot heel on the green and silver bike, but cut so deep I found the saddle bag door is black plastic under all the layers of paint. Oh well... at least it won't rust.

I don't worry much about anything behind me anyway.

That should make the fixin' a little easier right there. You wouldn't think it, but you can fix a lot of sins with clear coat.

I have some Color Rite touch up paint I bought to touch up a couple of rock chips on my 2007. I never got to use it. I have a 2 oz bottle of black and a 2 oz bottle of clear coat I'd let go at a reasonable price.
