Posting a photo

I looked through the search function on how to post a photo but do not see the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS feature to browse and upload photos from my computer.

Can someone please explain how its done ?

I do not have a photo account with Photobucket etc.

You NEED to have an account somewhere on the web to post pictures here.

So you cannot browse for photos on your own computer and download them that way ?

If you open an account on Photobucket are your photos still private or are they out there for the whole world to see ?

On Photobucket you can decide which picture folders are public and private.

You would be UPLOADING a picture to the forum. Downloading is transferring a file to your computer from a remote site.

Yes, you can upload a picture from your pc to the forum. In the WYSIWYG message editor, you click on the button that looks like a paperclip. That opens the manage attachments window and you can browse your system to find the image you wish to upload.

The image will appear as a "thumbnail" in your message, and others need to click on it to enlarge it.

The other way is to store the image on photo sharing sites, like Photobucket or Picasa, and then you line the image URL in your email. The image will appear full size if you do it that way.

Good luck!

On the MENU BAR on any page in this forum, the far left menu option is "USER CP". Click on that and look at the left hand column under "YOUR PROFILE". Scroll down to "EDIT OPTIONS". Click on that. When the screen changes, scroll all the way down to bottom of the page and look for "MESSAGE EDITOR INTERFACE". The drop down box in that section shows which message editor you have available. If it does not say "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG editing", click on the arrow to the right and select it, then save your profile.

Now, when you start a new thread or reply in an existing thread, you will be using the WYSIWYG editor.

BTW, WYSIWYG = "What You See Is What You Get".

Yes you can upload a photo directly from your computer to the forum.

In addition to cactusjack's instructions, when making a new reply/thread, you can also just scroll down to:

Additional Options >> Attach Files >> Manage Attachments

Is there a limit to how much you can upload? If so, what's the limit?

I believe it's about 25mb for registered members, 50mb for Premium Members.
