NFL wants part of musicians money

The NFL is telling half time performers they want a cut of the proceeds that they make after doing the half time show at the super bowl. Like the NFL and performers don't make enough as it is.

I'd be happy if they went back to college marching bands and ditched the retread ancient rock bands and the crap like the Black Eyed Peas or (shudder) Coldplay.

I heard that the flyovers are gone now too. The National Guard has ended its Nascar sponsorship. I guess the government is cutting corners so the NFL is looking to get more cash into its NONPROFIT hands! Also they have to pay for the concussion fund now too so expect to see ticket prices go way up!

That's a big 10-4!!!!!!! And, keep it at 15 mins. like the regular season. Half time at the SB is way to long as well as boring.

But it gives people time to run down to the local liquor store and restock.

Someone has to pay for the low concussion settlement. Hopefully they'll tell the NFL to bugger off.

I thought the Who were lame. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan but their ship set sail years ago. Half of the original band members have gone to the great venue in the sky, and I don't mind Zak Starkey on the kit. My issue is the couple of faceless guitarists in the shadows that were playing. When you need additional musicians (and attempt to hide them) to augment one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time, then it's time to hang it up. If they had been on stage under the lights I'd have no problem, but you could see their silhouettes in the dark. Don't get me started on the Rolling Stones. Rush would be great, Judas Priest would be great, but us old geezer classic rockers are not the preferred demographic of the NFL. Only the NBA is worse, they lost me back in the 90's when they embraced the urban black male as their target audience.

Well, that's fine as I don't watch the NFL much anyway and to think of it, you didn't bring up autotune too. I bet a lot of bands use that one live. Anyway, lots of musicians can play into their 60's and 70's quite well. I can't speak to The Who, but I would think Jason Bonham with Zep would be fine. Jimmy Page still plays well. That said, I am Rush fanatic. They would give a great and proper show.

And most people don't realize that the NFL is a registered Non-Profit Organization . . . What exactly do they do with all their licensing and marketing fees?? Yup, they;re a genuine multi-billion dollar a year non-profit . . . I wonder if I can writ off any tickets to a game as a donation to the non-profit . . .
