I would like to own one of these.
1960 Matchless Typhoon 600 cc single.

The dealer I bought my bike from carries the Royal Enfield. I spent some time goofing around with the different models in the showroom. Might make a good around town bike. If I was looking for a second bike instead of buying one of those though, I'd put out a little more cash and buy a Bonneville. I'm sure it would be a better running and better built bike.

The Bonneville is a better bike, larger motor and more money. I tested a Royal Enfield a couple of years ago. And as long as you realize what you are on, it is quite enjoyable. For around town it would be a hoot. The Triumph would be way better. I tried a Speed Master and found that to my liking better than the Bonneville.

The Enfeilds are not that great a bike overall from what I have read. They are still very old tech on a lot of stuff.

They are made in India, a lot of that country is old tech.

The R E 's were updated in 2010, new motor and such.
They have kept them true to their heritage, low tech.

Low tech don't cut it anymore in this day and age, at least not in North America.

Well, you are right, but when you ride one of these things, it brings you back to your
youth. They sit and feel like the bikes of the 60's. I think one would be fun to run
errands around central Vt. Although the Nomad is always fun no matter where I'm going.

I get the wife to run the errands while I ride the nomad. It keeps her youthful and it's fun for me.
