Redwood National Forest Area

I want to include the Redwood National Forest in my upcoming trip. Any suggestions, tips, or advice?

We held our 2011 Western Rally there in Crescent City. It is a beautiful area and those Redwoods are simply amazing! We based at the Curly Redwood Lodge, a place built entirely out of one Redwood tree, actually using only half of it . It can be very foggy in the mornings, so be careful. Highway 96 along the Klamath River is spectacular...as is most of Hwy 101 in northern Cal and southern Oregon. There are a lot of Elk along 101 just south of CC....so watch for those. Amazing place...you will love it!

the redwoods are great and I would recommend a side trip to crater lake on your way there.

Eel River Brewery is a good place to eat nearby. Good Chili and other goodies.
