No, not that I have seen, but the V2K does now.

Nomads are "open loop" systems. A computer runs the system with input from sensors, but there is no feedback to the computer regarding the results of its efforts.
There is no O2 sensor, knock sensor, or other feedback device AFAIK. |

Which is a shame. I think if the engine management was better, we could run cheaper gas and do mods without having to fool the computer, or at least we'd have a little more range. An open loop system is old school.

ponch I run 87 oct... I see no signs of ping... Of course each bike can varry. I also did suffer ping 'stock' with 89 oct. Mostly then lugging and headed up hill.
What more than fixed that for me was doing the Caddman kit, TFI chip, and V&H baggers. That with for cars mobile 1 got me a useable more powder and a very useable more MPG's, going from a stock 01 and 06 nads from apx 36 mpgs to 46/48, all the while using regular for the most bang for the buck. I try to run Sunoco, Chevron, fuels hoping these are cleaner that brand x mom and pop. I never run Gulf, but that's a long tale, and I don't run Citgo since we will be at war with them sooner than later. If you do this you will need to monitor these fuels and if you find you are pinging, you will need to top off with 93 otc.. The main deal here is the 10:1 compression, is why it is said we need hi test.. I am not lookin in the book, and maybe that is 10.5:1 To my way of thinking when you get 11:1 is when you more need hi test.

My bike pings on 89, so I have to run 91. As far as the cadmann kit or pipes, I don't think I will be doing any of it. My wife put the kibash on the pipes (and honestly, as bored as I am with the bike, my tinnitus wouldn't like it), so I don't think doing the air side is really worth it then. I could do the resistor mod, but I also do not want to have the mileage drop much. my point was, that if they had a modern sophisticated closed loop system on the bike, I could run anything in it. BTW, 89 is cheaper here than 87 by 15ยข.

2005- 2008 nomads have 9:1 compression, not 10:1...
Although higer compression requires more knock resistance, the Suzuki SV650 has 11:1 compression and runs on regular. "squish angle" has a big affect on the fuel requirements as well as bore diameter and it's too lengthy to go into but it's idea is how to start the combustion process by the location of the spark plug, the design of the roof of the combustion chamber in relationship the where the valves are located. Remember the flame of the combustion process travels from one side of the piston to the other side smoothly in a well designed engine. The technology in the design of the Nomad head is absent for that desired feature. Twin plug motors are kind of a "give away" that the head design is not optimal. 9:1 compression motors should be able to run on coolaid with a properly designed head.

Mine ran on Kool Aid, but I felt so gay with all the strawberry-smelling exhaust fumes. I switched back to Chevron.
