Engine Vibration
OK....Both front and rear tires have been replaced this past Friday.
Bridgestone stocks and done by the Dealer. Went on a 1,200 mile ride over the weekend to West Texas area. IT IS NOT THE TIRES THAT WERE CAUSING THE VIBRATION......still does it. I have made up my mind...After owning 3 Kawasakis that I have loved owning....This one gives my trouble and Kawasaki (not the Dealer) treated me the way they did......No more Kawasaki will ever be purchased again by me. Motorcycles, Four Whwwlers, Jet Skis.....Nothing ever again. I will continue to ride this bike for a few years but the next bike will be a Honda. Hopefully a Goldwing.

Sorry to hear this vibration issue was not able to be resolved. Mama Kaw dropped the ball on this one for sure. Ongoing issues like this one left unresolved leaves a bad taste in my mouth too!!

I feel for you on this one, REFUGIO. It would sour me on Kawasaki, too.
However, I've come to believe that the price or the brand of the motorcycle is not necassarily indicative of the type of service you will get from any said dealer or warranty. There are so many guys on various HD forms that have bitched and bitched about things on their $18K to $30K Harleys that the dealers say is 'normal', 'can't duplicate the problem', etc. Which is kind of sad because one would hope after spending more on a bike than some people do on a new car, you would get red carpet treatment after the sale. Good luck, anyways- don't be a stranger. |

Curious REFUGIO if you still plan on installing those counter balance parts that you bought awhile back. If you haven't yet you have nothing else to lose. Just don't let the dealership install them. If you do install them let us know if that helped.

Yes.... Those counter balancers will get done one of these days. That would be the next thing and checking on bushings and bearings while in there.I will let you all know when I do it.

hey I am having the very same issue. My bike vibrates excessively at about 1800 rpm. I am positive it has nothing to do plugs fuel or mounts. have you been able to find the problem.

Wow I just read this whole thread, pretty amazing that tires can cause frame and fender vibrations (unless out of balance). Even more amazing that so many folks had the same thing with the Metzlers, but even taking the Metzlers off did not cure the OP's vibration.
Really bizzare set of circumstances. Hope you guys find the hidden culprit. Just a long shot, I knew a couple of instances in my life where the mufflers and/or straight pipes were mounted in a bind OR they were loose causing these vibration symptoms, even in neutral.

My '04 1500 with 48k miles started to vibrate, but only after i made some mods. I opened up the air intake with a Cadmann, and i notice now the left floorboard vibrates. I'm assuming the added air has changed its firing characteristics, and by extension, its vibration characteristics, too. The bike runs great (getting more fuel via 1600 ohms of resistance in the temp sensor signal wire) and is too rich, if anything. I'm going to take out one of the resisters, the 800 ohm, leave the 1200, and see how it goes. Still futzing with the right side intake, too. it's always a work in progress, i guess.
