How much 39 degree weather you been riding in. 39 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind and it gets quite chilly. And I am not talking of riding to the store and home. I spent 6 hours riding today with stops only for fuel. By the way, the heated jacket liner works great.

If I hadn't had cervical fusion this year, I would have ridden plenty this year. Normally I ride down to 20˚F or so and heated grips and seat work fine. If I rode in weather colder than that, I would want heated pants and socks/foot liners and then heated gloves at some point. My core seems to be ok in that weather.

In that weather... my core is just fine sitting at home!

All my riding so far has been to or for work - just a couple tanks of gas.

If its cold and I'm only riding as far as work (about 10 miles) then I can get by in regular clothes plus my leather bush pilot jacket.

The first three hours that I rode I did not see more than a handful of bikes out. The ones that I did see where not out for long rides, easy to spot when they have slippers on Once it warmed into the upper 40's more people started to hit the roads. I have also rode when the temp was in the low 20's and a few times my core has cooled down to where I needed to stand in the warm shower for a very long time to warm up. Not healthy. I probably did not NEED the jacket liner yesterday but it was the first chance I have had to try it out. I had it set on the lowest temp and was still too warm. I do know that it works very well and I hope that I have the chance to use it more often.

So Ponch, what's the prognosis? Are going to be in recovery mode for a while longer? Where are you in the process now?

Unfortunately the new 100% will probably less than the old 100%. ?

The prognosis is that I have had 3 levels fused and I probably won't do better than 70% of range of motion side to side. I am going to PT now, trying to get more flexibility back. My neck is very stiff. Having a brace on for a couple months will do that. I go to the surgeon next monday for my second follow up and they will take an X-ray to see how the fusion is coming along. I may start riding after that, I will see. The other thing is to see how I handle a helmet and if I can scan side to side and use the mirrors correctly.

The good part is the numbness and weakness are 99% gone. I am allowed to work out now, so I will see how that goes too.

Dang! When your back doesn't work right everything is hard to do. Wish you the best in recovery and hope the results on Monday are positive.

Denny and Sally (dmac) from Minnesota..... my comment was in response to Gibby's comment about their Goldwing on page one. At the time I wrote that, I didn't know you were on page four! Does that sort of make sense, my friend? When we gonna meet for biscuits and gravy?

You keep asking, but something always comes up. You better hurry up as things might change.

Hey Dave, that is one sweet Pearl White GoldWing but I would like to see their Nomad too.
Denny did quite a few mods to it last fall and over the winter.
