Tuktoyaktuk.

A new road was opened and we can now ride to one of Canada's most northern communities , on the Arctic Ocean.
No Vulcan for this trip, but I did ride all the way, 7028 kms from home.

Crazy, just crazy, Garry ! 7028 kms ? - ONE WAY or two way ?

I never could imagine to do such a trip, even if I had the time.

It has been an amazing ride so far, that photo was taken at noon June 17, it was 4C while back in Ontario it was 33 that day. And 24 hours of sunshine, takes some getting used to.
I'm in Dawson City, Yukon today. Big bike rally going on called Dusk to Dawson, celebrating endless daylight on the solstice.
7000 kms one way from my home, did it in 7 days and I'll be taking the long way back over to Alaska then down the cassiar Hwy into British Columbia to stick my foot in the Pacific Ocean. It will be 20,000 kms, riding alone and enjoying the backroad solitude. 2500 kms of dirt road riding so far, loving my big yellow Yamaha.

That is some ride, Garry! You have my admiration, averaging 1000 km per day. Hopefully, someday after retiring I can do that trip. I think it would be so cool to experience the summer solstice up there with 24 hours of sun.

On a similar note, on my way home yesterday from Medicine Hat on the Trans Canada Highway I passed a guy on a Gold Wing towing a small trailer that said "To Anchorage & Fairbanks, Alaska or Bust". He looked like he was having fun!

No issues with the Yamaha, tires and all. Can't say the same for Garmin and Samsung stuff........
Bike is pretty dirty tho, but adds to its character.

Be safe and enjoy yourself on your trip. I can do 1000 kms in a day but not multiple days in a row, and 1000 kms in a day on dirt roads is too stressful for this old guy.

I don't do 1000 a day on dirt, but racking up 13-1400 days across the prairies makes it all average out. The Dempster Hwy is an absolute b*tch, with lots of loose gravel and construction, and the new road to Tuk was even worse with 20 kms of mud and ruts and loose gravel. I couldn't park the bike anywhere, the kickstand just sunk in the muck.

I parked in Chicken for a bit, then rode south to Tok and camped for the nite. I followed the Alcan east back to Watson Lake to walk around in the sign forest, then the Stewart Cassiar to Hyder. I've been to all these places before on the Voyager but never did the the 40 kms of dirt road to see the Salmon glacier, I had the right bike and tires this time so up I went.

On the way to the glacier I encountered a grizzly bear, he stopped on the road and so did I, we watched each other for a bit then he ran of into the bushes. That was the closest I've even been to a grizzly, and I kept one hand the clutch and other ready to grab lots of throttle, so photo of him!
I did touristy stuff through northern BC, rode to Jasper then Edmonton to visit with a friend.
From there I went to Saskatchewan to visit with some family members whom I had not yet met, here's me with Jayden and his little sister Brooke.
