On the road again Goin' places that I've never been Seein' things that I may never see again Gents, Just checking out and be back in 2 weeks. We're gonna chase the Sun whether it be in Washington, Oregon, Nevada or California. Basically, we're heading south and to the sunny side of the mountains. On the road again (with pics)
Well here I am back, safe and sound with a huge grin on my face that I just can't seem to lose.
The ride was a wet one { as you may have read on another thread} going out as far as Calgary. Not bad going to "the hat". Coming back it was pretty good. There was a bit of water on the road heading out of Calgary and I kept my rain gear on till Golden. Then it was dry till I headed up on the Cohquahalla but took the gear off once I hit Hope. All in all a great time. As soon as I have the ride all cleaned up I'll post more pictures. There are some on another thread. One of the best things are the risers and I wished I had that when I first got the bike.

I hear ya John,.... but there is still quite a difference in the two. I'll be posting more pic's later to show that. Although I had already decided to do the fairing before I saw/met hammer <s>he,</s> no his bike was an inspiration for me.

Our trip was shorter than we initially planned due to a bad back pain my wife had but overall we enjoyed every mile, "decompressed" totally and returned home much younger (my colleague told me that I looked so young the first morning she saw me after vacation). Sundry statistics pertaining this road trip: Most scenic freeway: I84 from Pendleton to La Grande, OR Most scenic byway: HWY 82 from La Grande to Joseph OR Most charming towns: Walla Walla, WA and Joseph, OR Best hotel: Best Western*, Omak, WA Best steak: Geiser Grand Restaurant, Baker City, OR Best burger (ever): The Embers Brew House, Joseph, OR Best pizza: Local Myth Pizza, Chelan, WA Best brew: India Pale Ale, The Marc Restaurant, Walla Walla, WA Best ice cream: Hought’s 24 Flavors, La Grande, OR Best chiropractor: Steven Bachman, Baker City, OR Highest elevation gained: 1314 m./4310 ft. Wauconda Pass, WA Longest distance ridden in a day: 707 km Shortest distance ridden in a day: 0 km Longest distance ridden in rain: 150 km Total distance ridden: 2800 km We're looking forward to our next road trip.
