Best Tires for 1700 Voyager?
Is the general consensus that the Michelin Commander IIs are the best for the 1700 Voyager? Does anyone have any other tire recommendations?
Thanks

well in all my years of riding I have tried avons, metz, michelin, bridgestone, etc etc, I liked the spitfires on my sport tourer bikes, I found the metzelers to be bad for my cruiser, always got a front end wobble from every one I tried, first time for the Commander II front and rear, and so far, after around 3000 miles, I love them, no wobble, good tread wear, good handling in both wet and dry. no issues to date and would recommend them to anyone.

Put a Dunlop American Elite on the rear. I have about 7,500 miles on it and it still looks good. Still running the stock Bridgestone on the front (14,000 miles).

I had the Metlers put on and after a few days of wobble I switched to the Comander II's. Love the smooth wobble free ride. :) I should also add that I am running 36-38 psi in the front and 40-42psi in the rear.

Having run several sets of Dunlop E3 tires and getting 35k kms from the fronts and 45k from the rears I am now trying a pair of Michelin Commander 2. The front has went 40k and is nearing the wear bars now so it will be replaced soon. It has cupped somewhat, but nowhere near as bad as the Dunlops or Bridgestone did. The rear C2 has 35k on it and still has 4.5 mm of tread (8 mm new) and is wearing very evenly. At this wear rate it should go 50k to 60k kms before the wear bars.

Are there any issues with the lower profile (65 vs. 70) of the Commander II rears?
Thanks for the mention of the E3s. I'm gonna check them out too. We really have little to choose from in stock sizes...

You're looking at only millimeters difference, nothing that is noticeable.

No issues with the 180 tire on the rear. 4400 miles and they still look good.

Anyone have any experience with the Bridgeston Exhedra MAX tires?
Sorry for all the questions. I am learning a lot here. The Avon Ultra Storm IIs are such excellent tires on my Mean Streak- I would love to have another good tire purchase! (BTW- know anyone looking for a very nice Mean Streak? I will get it up for sale in a few days when I give it a bath and wax and get some updated pics) Thanks again.

I got about 10,000 km on my rear Bridgestones and about 20,000 km on my front. After listening to the advice from everyone on this site I chose the Commander II's and after 5,000 km on them I can't think of one complaint, like everyone says no wobble, corners real nice, tread still looks good and it even helped with the dreaded parking lot speeds . I will definitely be putting on another set when these wear out, when ever that might be
