good Night.

It was a very pleasant day, no visitors and no phone calls. Just hung out
and tapped the keyboard. Weather people just updated the storm from a
'trace to 3"' to maybe 14" over night. Will be interesting as to what we get.
Good night.

I left work at 11pm and drove home through a wicked snowstorm, I wouldn't be surprised if all the schools are closed tomorrow, there were a few cars in the ditch already.
Good Night.

Sorry to take so long to respond Tim. Actually it's been 3 yrs since I fell at work. I just edited the orig post.It was Feb 2010.
I was back for a while but then Workers comp. suggested that I go off again. So I've been off again since last Aug. I think.
What did I do? I fell backwards out of a printing unit on a newspaper press. These press's are huge and you can actually walk into each, 2 colour combination printing unit. Anyway, I was backing out when I slipped on the edge of a small step, and turned to catch myself on the guard rail. Unfortunately I only got part of myself turned around and my right foot got lodged against the concrete super structure. Everything turned at the point of my right knee, tearing the meniscus, MCL, and the ACL. Normally this isn't the end of the world. Athletes do it a lot and they have an operation and 6 -8 months later they're back doing their sport. For me, I'm not an athelete and not in my 20's or 30's any more,.... and they did 2 operations instead of doing it all at once. The second operation to fix the ACL, they harvested a ligament from behind the knee and drilled a hole through the femur and then one into the tibia, then threaded the ligament under the knee cap, screwed one end into the femur and the other into the tib. to fix the ACL. This caused a lot of scar tissue, limiting my range of motion and altering my gait. It only got worse from there. Because I walk slightly different, my left hip and knee give me problems and I'm waiting now for an MRI on the left knee for a suspected torn MCL. I'm also having a problem now with my right foot because of the gait I have now. I just had a bone scan for a possible fracture {which came out neg} Now it looks like orthotics are next to try, and then possibly an operation to shorten 2 toes that are now beginning to curl under. I think they call that "hammer toes", ... again because of the way I need to walk.
The employer is trying to accommodate me and find something that I can do, because WC said I shouldn't do my old job as a pressman.
So here I wait. I wish they'd just buy me out for the sake of one yr. and a bit before I retire.

So there you have it.
Good night ya'll

Ricky I'm familar with printing rooms, I was a lineotype operator for the local newspaper for over two years before they switched over to computers. I moved into sales and never looked back. I can see how you did so much damage, as my wife has had torn knees from skiing, so I know the process that you speak of. Seems like they should buy you out at this point, good luck.
