First Sterio typical Harley Encounter

So I go riding this weekend with a friend and his wife. Friend, who rides a HD Heritage (beautiful bike) invites two other couples. We enjoyed the day riding back roads and soakingup the sun. Everything was great until the end when we were all standing around looking at the bikes. My friend brings up the deal I got on my bike. One of the other guys, who rides a street glide, says "well you ride what you can afford. I'm a Harley guy. I can afford a Harley so that is what I ride. If you can't afford one this gets two wheels on the ground.". Funny thing is I could pay cash for his bike, house and car. Idiot!

His bike does have 103cubic inches---oh wait, so does mine
His bike does have a belt drive--oh wait so does mine
His bike does have fuel injection, cruise control, air ride, etc....oh wait so does mine.

Not always an issue of what you can afford. Sometimes it is an issue of how you want to spend your money.
My bike $5900
His bike $20,000

It's amazing isn't it bud? I got a buddy who bought a new street bob and can't afford it but had to have a Harley. Every time we go out riding, He eats huge just before and brings snacks for me to put in MY saddlebag case he gets hungry cause he can't afford to eat and and ride too.

Then if we stop for a refreshment, he orders water and I'll buy myself a beer of HIS favorite brand as sort of a silent slap in the face. People are ignorant.

I feel sorry for the bike having to haul a ego that size around.

Seems like the Harley peeps always have to justify paying too damn much for a motorcycle that is basically no better than any other and in alot of cases their technology is way behind. Oh well, to each his own I guess. Ride what you want.

Not ALL Harley owners are asses.

Saying that all are is a bit much.

Quite frankly, some of the stereotyped comments made about ALL Harley owners is no less offensive then what the idiot said to the OP. Just saying guys... Geez...

Now look what you did! LOOK---WHAT---YOU----DIDDDDD!

You done went and hurt the Harley riders little feelings!

Now I gotta piss on a forest fire to put it out, thanks a pant load!

All of that was so hurtful to read except the (and especially Victory's) part which I found side splitting hilarious and still cain't quit laughing.
