Victory parts suck

So far I have bought a Windshield that Victory said would fit but it didn't.
Now I have $849 saddlebags and $176 attachment spools that Victory said would fit but of course they will not unless I buy a $180 passenger footrest support bracket
Screw them, I will sell what I have and look someplace other than Victory for parts.

Instead of selling them, take them back and get a refund........ then you'll have the cash to get aftermarket (and probably better) parts with some cash left over.

I can take the spools back but I bought the bags on Ebay and the seller said no returns in his auction.

Tim, perhaps you can get rid of the brackets that don't work, or keep them and have a fabricator start from scratch or make what is missing to mount the bags you bought, can't be that tough.

But they cost 5 times as much as they should because Harley is stamped on them.

Oh details, details. Don't get lost in the details... just bust-out the wallet.

Don't mean to start something here but if your wife wanted bags and a windshield why didn't she buy the Cross Roads? It already has a windshield and bags.

You don't think $800 for victory bags are expensive?
Victory is competing with Harley in the price of parts as well as other things.

She was not flat footed on the CR and she really likes the looks of the BW much better.

No, but I think $1200 each for Nomad bags is criminal.

Harley parts are no more expensive than anyone else, and most seem to be fairly reasonable. Case in point: I replaced my stock antenna. It cost me $29.95. Ask one of these Voyager owners how much a replacement antenna is for them. It's close to $100.

My brother got a Harley Solo seat from his employees at Christmas. The bracket to change the seat was 180.00 at the Harley dealership. Does that sound like a price that other bike brands would charge for a seat bracket? I think not. If you think that Harley parts are not more expensive than other brands then you are living in a fantasy land.

You're absolutely right. I own a Harley and have no idea how much their parts and accessories cost. You must think $45 each for the 6 aluminum strips on a 1600 Nomad saddlebag door is "reasonable", or how about $400 for a fuel pump? Pocket change.

I'm not saying Harley parts are the cheapest on the planet, but they aren't often as bad as some people think.
