I finally saw the video on the Amarillo local news, of all places. Too bad the guy in the SUV didn't take more of them out. Freaking assholes.

I'm going to play devil's advocate.

If you were out riding with a group and a SUV hit one of your buddies and didn't stop, would you try to stop him?

If he still wouldn't stop and puposely ran over a couple of more bikes AND riders, would you go after him?

If he still didn't stop and had run over one rider on pupose, and broke his back in two places and both of his legs, would you go get him and beat the shit out of him?

It's easy to judge when you don't see all of it.

But, then the police would show up and arrest you. You would get charged with a felony. You would go to trial, and quite possibly prison.
For the guy who was so badly injured, it's very sad. I do believe that he was just coming to his friends aid when he placed himself in front of that Rover. I would not wish that for anybody. However, we choose our friends and the people that we hang out with, and I don't think he chose wisely. I learned that lesson a long time ago.

If he still wouldn't stop and puposely ran over a couple of more bikes AND riders, would you go after him? Don't know if it was on purpose but it seems it was fight or flight at that time and he chose flight.

It's easy to judge when you don't see all of it. No argument there but the response was assinine.

MT
Would I chase him? Would I break the windows, drag him out and beat and slash him? Would I particiapate in this dog pack mentallity? No. A cell phone and a license plate is all that was needed. You see this mentallity with allot of police chases also.

Kind of agree with Sin city. In summary.... mistakes were made on both sides. Too bad it had to paralyze someone.

I was on a trip with a friend years ago. While we were riding through Cedar Park, Texas, a local in an SUV decided he wanted in our lane. He steered right in and knocked my friend off his bike. He then took off. I made sure my friend was OK, then gave chase. The SUV got away. In the heat of things, I don't know what I would have done if I caught up to him. Doubt that I would have beat his glass in with my helmet tho.

The driver pulled over after hitting the first idiot that slowed down on purpose to be hit by the SUV. This was the first person arrested because he was trying to cause an issue.

After the driver pulled over they started beating the vehicle and trying to stab the tires.

If my 2 year old is in the back and my wife is with me and there is a chance that they are going to be hurt by a pack of scumbag bikers that big you bet I would take off no matter what it took to get them to a safe place.

On another note. If I was riding by on my own bike I would either try to step in and stop what had happened or call a cop if it looked like it was going to get out of hand.

There should have been more motorists that got involved and called a cop.

No kidding. People call in a SWAT team when they mistake an umbrella for a gun but when someone is clearly in danger they all mind their own freaking business.

If I had witnessed this, I would have been on a phone to the cops in a New York minute.

Hard to say what we would do until we are in the situation. What parts of the incident did I see/hear? What is my relationship to the injured biker?

One thing I do suspect. There were a few that used good judgement and a few that didn't.

I did not see any "official" reports on biker's injury. I though one of them just busted a leg....did someone get paralyzed?

Found this updated info. This guy is screwed up for life. Possibly an innocent bystander that had little to do with the incident...but who knows for sure? Or maybe he was beating the guys hood in and threatening him?

I hope it all gets sorted out correctly.

Sad seeing someone is paralyzed for life, if he was trying to help a injured friend, But he was hanging with a group of punk ass bitch's who thought they were Billy Bad Ass , Running no plates show they were up to no good on the road.Trying to get away with all they can... To attack and assault the driver show what punks they were.... The SUV taking off after stopping was a choice most would make with a wife and baby in the car.. I'm sure would have ran over several more if I felt the life of my wife, baby and me!
Sucks seeing people trying to make those bikers out as the victims

They guy that got run over has 16 moving violations and his license is revoked until 2017. I don't think he's an angel. If you look at the videos that were taken before the incident, these guys were terrorizing a lot of people. I still assert that in states where people can carry, this type of shit is a lot less likely to happen because they'll get their ticket punched. In NY, that's not going to happen. The other thing is that the NYPD had a hands off policy on these guys, SO, if people can't protect themselves and the cops won't do it, then the scum will behave as they choose and that is what happened.

With that pack closing in on me I would not need anyone else in the car to do what he did. I will never just sit and take a beating. Either driving forward or backing over bikes behind me I would not have stuck around.
