I don't know why anyone would be concerned with gang violence or even bother setting up a neighborhood watch program..... what kind of loons we got out there believing there is a problem.

Kind of like warm tapioca pudding... you can only cook it for so long and then eventually you have to take it off the stove and eat it, or throw it away. Unless you have some wallpapering to do.
As far as how today's press sensationalizes everything, one would think we never had long periods of drought, rain, or violence in this country... Or even racial tension. Seems most "reporters" don't realize similar things happened before they were born... Seems to me we have a long history of each of these in one form or another. I can remember reading about the rough-time the Irish and Italians had when immigrating to this country. And, of course, no one can claim a rougher-time than what the American Indians experienced when Europeans immigrated to this land. Nothing has changed... only the names. As was once stated by a wise-man... "We need lead-paint"!
