Geez....finally...I thought I was gonna bust a gut keeping this quiet. I knew from talking with Brad he was in love with this CCT...but was sworn to secrecy about his purchase. Good for you Brad...you deserve it...and writing the check only hurts for a short while.... Can't wait to see it in Estes Park this summer....

Ahh do we get to vote on this??? Let's set up a pole or something.

Really though Brad ....congrats on the new bike. I hope you like it. See you and the bike in Colorado.

Congratulations Brad. There is a new Victory dealership opening near me in a few weeks. I might go take a look. Maybe that is not a good idea (g).

Congratulations Brad! Enjoy the new ride. I have been looking at those too. Lots of great features. (Just hard to move to a slower, slightly stodgier ride ride.)

A few things you may or may not already know.

The CLUNK when shifting is normal. The trannys are bulletproof and the ALL shift that way.

I'd have a reputable dealer do the initial 500 mile service. After that, you can easily do most of them yourself.

As much as you like the new found power, it gets even better as it gets broken in. Once the 500 mile service is done, you can really crank on it. I think my Vision is stronger now than even 1000 miles ago and it's just getting better.

Throw out the Vic P&A catalog. The vast majority of Vic accessories can be found aftermarket for much better prices at a better quality. Witchdoctors (www.buywitchdoctors.com) is the leader in aftermarket Vic parts. There's also HMD and CycleOps, both with stellar reputations.

For performance goodies (there isn't much as these are SUPER motors, stock), stick with Lloydz products. The best bang for the buck as far as performance is a set of Lloydz cams, fuel processor, Lloydz ECM upgrade and timing wheel. There are a few Vic high performance mechanics scattered around the country. Lloyd (NY), Rylan Vos (in IA), Kevin Cross (in FL) and a few others. If you can get 4 or 5 bikes together, most of them will fly wherever you are to do "cam parties". For around $1500, they'll install cams, fuel processor, top filter (on the Vision), etc. Those will put around 110/110 to the ground.

The 3 biggest Vic forums are the VOG (www.thevog.net), the VMC (Victory Motorcycle Club...www.thevmc.com) and Cross Riders (www.cross-riders.com). Between those 3, you can get any question answered.

Congrats on your new bike.
Thanks Chris! I did join The VOG. I have lots to learn and you gave me some great info and sites! BUT I AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE! YOU CLOWNS ARE STUCK WITH ME!

Tim. I used to be a "brand" loyal type. Not anymore. When I hear some say, "I'd rather push my Harley than ride a Honda" I realize how lame that sounds. I did want that Road Glide Ultra but there is just not enough room on it. Same with the Voyager.

I go with whatever is being talked about as one of the best machines out there and then research research research then test ride. Like the Gold Wing. I just didn't fall in love with the riding position. More of a "sport bike" position.

.
I'm not what I would call brand loyal. I just like the older style of the 08 and before Nomads.
Don't need all the high tech gadgets. Not a fan of trunks etc.
Just an old school kinda guy.
Again, to each their own and hope you and Marie roll up many happy memories on the new ride

Congratulations Brad, I have ridden one of these, and was VERY impressed with it, It will probably be my next bike too. The only other bike, stock "V" twin, that has more power is a Yamaha Stratoliner. ergonomics are about the same, but the CCT has much more amenities. I think you made a great choice.
