2011 was the big year. ABS standard and the tranny was upgraded (and the oil change interval went from 2500 to 5000 miles). The '11 Visions had the HID cyclops stock, too. The '12s and '13s have it as an option. Most have a regular halogen bulb in the cyclops light. The HID is one of the things that drew me to the Vision.

I emailed Trip as soon as the Nomad sold so I'm already an Enthusiast. I've always been a "casted-off, disgraced member. Lower than scum water.". I'm ok with that. The folding table near the kitchen has it's perks. It's closer to the food.

Anyway, a friend of mine bought a CC there last fall, said they had the best prices around. Said they don't really dicker, just offer a certain price that no one else would touch.
That would be Osborns. They don't have any holdover Visions right now. They're on alert for one, though. I did my homework and told the local dealer exactly what I wanted and what I'd be willing to pay. I even gave him the names of a few dealers who had what I wanted. I told him if he could find the right bike for the right price, I'd buy from him. If not, I'll go elsewhere. He's a shady dealer (like all of them) but I would think he'd like an easy $17k sale so maybe he'll work FOR me. We'll see.

Happy for you that you did sell your bike although you didn't come out so well.

Yeah. The local dealer isn't exactly what I'd call customer friendly but they came within $200 of the best price I found. Close enough as I'd rather deal with a local business if possible. I'm going to try to sweeten the deal by a couple hundred bucks and see if they'll throw in the first 500 mile service. I won't hold my breath. :) After that service, most of them are oil changes and lubes. I can do those myself (at a considerable savings).

It's a dealer trade and it's coming from Ohio. They can't get it until Monday (I just made the deal yesterday) and they need to check it out before they hand me the keys. By the time they get it and make sure it's ok, it'll be the end of the day. I work nights (and sleep afternoons/evenings) so it wouldn't do me any good to pick it up at 5pm. As soon as the bank opens Tuesday morning, I'll be there to gather up the check then straight on to the dealer. I should have it by noon at the latest. I might not get many miles on it Tuesday but I bet I ride the crap out of it Wednesday. :) First 500 miles need to be careful anyway as I'll be breaking it in. I'm hoping to get the 500 mile service done the last weekend in September. :)

That would be my guess. I haven't actually seen the bike yet. The only factory bronze bikes I've seen have been sort of 2 tone so I suppose the 2nd color could be called sand. I told the dealer I didn't care what factory color it was. I think they had 4 colors in '12. Black, Crimson Red, some sort of blue and the Bronze Mist. The red had black/gray stripes and the blue and bronze were 2 tone (blue with super steel gray and bronze with "sand"). The black was just black. (I think.)

Are you getting the reverse kit installed? That's one thing I love about Goldwings. Never have to worry about where you park.

Thanks. I might tear it apart to add stuff but it'll be tried and true stuff, not things I'm trying out like on the Nomad. There are some really neat LED tail lights I'll probably end up with but....they've sold hundreds of them and more importantly, I'M NOT FABRICATING ANYTHING!!
One of the reasons I traded up was to get some of the things I wanted on the Nomad like handlebar controls for the stereo and cruise control. I get about $1500 in free accessories/apparel so I'm going through the (fairly limited) P&A catalog today trying to decide what I want. I've found that most of the stuff I want is aftermarket but there are a few things Vic offers that will come in handy like a heel shifter lever. (Not having a stock heel shifter wasn't one of Vics better ideas.)

More than anything with this bike, I just want to ride it. I dearly hope my first 500 mile service will take all of about a week and a half. I'll pick up the bike Tuesday and schedule the service a week from the following Saturday. And I hope to go over a hundred miles or so. I still like Nomads but this fits me better and I think I like the looks better. (Hush, haters. )
