I have lived here in central New York for 65 years and never been to NYC. Don't plan on going either.
The Adirondacks and the other pars of NY State have some spectacular scenery.

As strange as it may sound, I enjoyed my stays in the city. My hotel was a block off of Times Square. Security was really tight then. Police and National Guard troops on every corner. I visited Grand Central, Empire State Building, took in a Nicks game at Madison SG, rode the Staton Island Ferry, Yankee Stadium, and went over to Queens and sat in the new Fire Truck that Louisiana donated to FDNY. This was all late in the evenings as 6am to 6pm was spent at or near the Trade Center site. I missed jumping in my 4wd pickup and going where I wanted when I wanted to. Travel in NYC is by bus, cab, or train. I got tired of that quick. I've heard how nice upstate and central NY are but haven't made it there yet. I plan to. It's in one of those buckets I keep tripping over.

Mitch, If you ever get into the Central NY bucket give me a pm. I will give you a tour of the Adirondacks.
I'm always lookin for excuses to ride.

I agree with all said about the Rally so no need to repeat eh! I had a blast and looking forward to seeing everyone next year at The deals Gap!!! Take Care to than and be safe !
