Who's planning the rides. Our are we going to figure it out as the days unfold. I don't think you can pick a bad rout unless of course its dirt or gravel.

Yes you can! We rode 28N a couple weeks ago and it is bumpy as hell. Not a good ride at all. I was looking for a road we traveled last year. It was the road I pictured below. Damned if I can find it again. :(

The only high point of route 28N was this sign and the old hotel it was refering to.

I just got back from Lake Placid and rode the route in TCs picture. It is 73 as stated. Route 86 and 9A are also good roads. The trip to White Face Mountain Veteran Memorial road is great. The road itself is a 10 mile climb and a claim to be the highest public road east of the Mississippi. Great view of the whole area from top. There is a charge to go on this road.
I too would like to come to the rally as another Canadian rider. I will try not to say 'eh' too much. HOpe that is fine with you'all.

Just got back from our trip to Maine What a great time.
Stopped in New Hampshire to visit with Mac and his wife Gwen. what great people.
Rode Rt. 73 on the way home and as Sarge said, that's the road I was looking for.
There were a bunch of guys climbing up the side of the rocks. Crazy bastards ;)
Can you see them ??? This was with my 3x zoom. I don't have a very expensive camera. :-[

Sounds like a great trip, TC. I see the guys climbing the rocks, did they have any gear with them? or just freehand. That pic looks similar to the Muskoka lakes area just north of me, its a beautiful area.

I could be wrong but I thought MT. Washington in Hampshire was the highest MT road,I road it last year its 6145 feet to the summit. I've never been on the road you are talking about we will have to try and do it at the rally .

Yeah Steve, they had gear. As far as I could tell they had ropes and helmets. Not going to help much in a fall

Sarge here is a link to the Veterans Memorial Highway.
http://www.whiteface.com/newsite/summer/highway.php
It says the peak is the 5th highest in the Adirondacks, but doesn't mention the road. I thought I read it was the highest road in literature in Lake Placid. I know when ever I go skiing in Quebec or Vermont, each mountain claims to the best at something so who knows. In any case, it is a good ride on a clear day. Don't be fooled by the short hike part in the link, the climb is 1/5 of a mile over mostly boulders, but is manageable as I did it in my riding gear.
