H. D. Tour Pack Painting

I am looking for the quantity of paint needed to paint a HD tour pack to match
the bike.

03 Nomad, Luminous Red and Pearl luster Beige.

I will be buying paint from Color Rite.

Does the base color need to be under both colors or just the Red.
The Pack is blue now. An auto body shop will doing the work.

Size of tour pack 24"wide-19"front to back-12" top to bottom. Just in case there are difference size packs.

Thanks

Well it's going to depend on where you 2-tone it, myself I always buy more than I need, for the amount you are buying I wouldn't cut it close for the minimal $$$ needed to buy some extra paint. Did you ask the guy that is painting it? As far as it being blue, I would hope that your painter is using a sealer or at a minimum a primer before spraying any paint.

When I paint in general the Primer / Base Coat I usually have tinted. I'd ask Color Rite about if their Base Coats (can they tint them) ?

My painter did mine with a half pint of base and a half pint of color. Didn't two tone mine and went with just one color from my bike. Painter I use hates color rite paint as it comes so thin that it has to be used straight out of the can without thinning and is a very hard paint to match with. Didn't think mine matched very good when I got it but as it aged it seemed to be a lot closer. Their three stage paints have to have the proper base color for them to match. Have your painter prime it to cover the existing color then base it and then the color. Good luck
