Waving SW Rally Ride Leaders

During this years SW regional rally in Kanab, we will have 3 planned rides. The area doesn't have any loops, but it does have some of the most unique places on earth near by.

We will be riding to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, through Zion NP, and through Bryce Canyon. I have been to Zion and Bryce several times and they are breath taking!

We need two volunteers for each ride. One to lead and one to be in the back. If you wouldn't mind doing this, please let me know. If you have a preference of which you'd like to volunteer for, please mention that when you contact me, otherwise, I'll just choose one for you.

The route will be as follows. The days for each route is still to be determined.

Grand Canyon: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ka...ra=ls&t=h&z=10

Zion NP: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ka...a=1,3&t=h&z=11

Bryce Canyon NP: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ka...ra=ls&t=h&z=10

Those look like three great rides! I suspect it would be worth buying an annual National Park pass before heading down there....

It will be $12 per park and the annual pass is $80. I guess it depends on what other parks you may hit within the year.

The Zion NP ride could easily become a loop, instead of turning around and going back through the park, go SE on UT 59 (which becomes AZ 389) to Fredonia, then N on 89A to Kanab.

I've made the loop before and the ride from Hurricane to Fredonia is worth the trip.

Helmets are not required in Utah if you're over 18. Same as AZ.

Since I have a CB I'd be willing to help with leading a ride to the Grand Canyon. It would be better if all Ride Leaders had a way to communicate with each other..

Jared, that is the price per bike. An annual pass lets in 2 bikes.

Key word "required". My fav. helmet is a skid lid. Not legal in some states. I wear a full face when I want a serious one.

It will only cover two bikes if the Pass is singed by two people people.
  1. What about motorcycle drivers who purchase an Annual Pass?
An Annual Pass permits entrance for two motorcycles IF the two people who sign the pass arrive at the same time on two motorcycles, regardless of the number of people on each motorcycle.
If you are 62 or older you can get a life time pass for $10

And, Photo ID is often required when you present the Pass. A fine of up to $5,000 if you use someone else's Pass!!

Just thought I'd let know if you don't have an annual pass the entrance fee at Zion is 12.00 per bike and if you have a passenger it's another 12.00 for a total of 24.00. If you have an annual pass it is good for only one bike and allows driver and passenger in, even if it has two signatures they will only allow one bike in per pass.

But they don't have to be related. So if two people sign it they can enter. Although I have never seen that enforced as I have had a pass and another person entered along with me and they didn't sign the pass.
