I'm also looking for a rear fender rack that is made from a tubular material. My ride is a 2008 Nomad 1600.

Thanks,

Elvis

To the best of my knowledge, they never made a solo rack for the 1600 Nomad. I guess Kawasaki presumes nobody would want to ride one solo. What you can do is look for a rack from a 1985-2003 Harley Sportster. They are readily available. Here's the one I have, from the same seller I bought mine from. The holes line up just right and it looks really good.

CJ, thanks for the quick reply.

this photo

shows only one hole on the front (left on that photo). I believe my passenger seat holder has two bolts on the front, so a total of 3 holes would be required for my 2008 Nomad.

Am I looking at a wrong rack?

Thanks,

E.

Elvis don't let your wife or girlfriend catch you looking at the wrong rack or you might need a uhaul instead of a luggage rack

Sorry, the rack attaches at the rear mounting hole for the passenger seat and at the rear hole for the rider seat. You remove the bracket that the tab on the passenger seat slides under (2 bolts). I used some stainless steel button head screws to fill the 2 holes. The rear mounting tab on the rider seat goes over the front mount of the rack.

Sarc are you talking about a rack for behind the backrest? I think Wompus, one of our members makes a rack for behind the backrest. Might want to contact him.

Wompus makes a rack for mounting tourpaks, the backrest would be removed since the tourpak becomes the backrest.

Oh okay Scott. I knew he made something but wasn't sure exactly what it is that he makes.

Ring, that rack seems to have been discontinued. Cannot find it anymore. I think I'm just gonna remove the passenger seat and backrest and ride it like that, just bear rear fender.

Where can I find nicely chromed bolts to replace the existing black bolts?

Thanks,

E.
