just want to say thank you for everyones input this is what I like about this forum great advice and information. My plan at this time is to watch it and if no problems leave it be and use the side plug like u all recommended. again thank you

Yep, thats the one. The oil will drain out better from that plug, as its a little lower in the crankcase.

Look behind your kickstand and tucked under the frame rail is a 17 mm hex head with a large integral flange on the bottom left corner of the motor. Here: http://www.gadgetjq.com/vulcan_1500_oil-sys.htm

I found that out to Mac. I thought they had to go to some kind of school first. I guess the boss might suppose to be certified and the others are his helpers or something.

my dealer is just new to the scene... (in his early 20s) he knows his dirt bikes well but had never heard of a nomad... thanks for the help guys..

The dealers should have a training session on all of the different models each year. They get brought up to date on all the new features and any problems that have been found. But not all dealers send there staff to these meetings as they are sometimes a couple days in length.
