This was me yesterday at High Falls State Park in Jackson, GAon my ride with my wife standing outside with a short sleeve T-shirt feeling comfortable.

I do miss living up north sometimes, but yesterday wasn't one of those days..

There are ups and downs to no matter where you live. I LOVE a gorgeous winter with snow and can tolerate the cold in exchange for a nice, steady winter long snow and the beautiful scenese it creates. On the other hand, I enjoy taking a 2 week RV trip down to central Florida in February too.

So that's how it's done. What happens if catch a really big one? That hole looks small.

I use a 10" hole with my power auger for icefishing, once a few years ago I cut an 8" hole with my hand auger and caught a fish that I couldn't get through the hole, it was too big and ended up getting away.
I'll have to check out the ice conditions on the lake here, I'm sure the bay is frozen for pike and perch.

Thanks for the info. I've never really been excited about fishing, even when I was young, growing up on the farm.

my power auger drills an 8" hole I only use it when the ice get more then 8-10" thick. I only jig and so I move around a lot so I don't want to drag around the weight of a power auger. I've drilled up to 100 holes in a day. Can you say swiss cheese

no motorized vehicles on state park lakes in pa. Only private lakes IF you have access.
Besides I sold the ATV, I got tired of starting it to go 150' up the driveway for the mail.
