Thanks, I'll take a close look at my rack. I'm pretty good at "fixin" things. Worked in a fab shop for a while in my younger days. If I can adapt them, they would be perfect.

If it's not selling you're asking too much. It's been said so many times, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. If you need to sell it ask for serious offers and start from there. You could ebay it with a reserve.

Ive paid that much for just the Tour Pak alone, I'm surprised nobody's scooped it up yet.

Just have to find the right person. Sorry RedGrey but the price stays. Maybe you ought to do some homework on these.

You did ask the question Am I asking too much ???

I know what people are asking, it's what they get that counts.

I've just bought and fitted a new trunk with rack and wraparound backrest painted for $220. That's everything including fiberglass reinforcing. It's not the quality of yours but it does the job and looks OK for me. I couldn't justify paying out an additional $500 + to buy yours.

If you want to sell yours now, what people are willing to pay is less than you want for it, or it would have sold.

If your in no hurry, ebay it (or Craigs list) with your reserve and keep re listing it till it sells. Sooner or later it may sell or you may have to lower your price to move it.

I wouldn't take a dime less than $900. for mine, now that it's wired, put together, and painted. And that does not include the rack.

The Harley tour pak's are the best option out there and worth ever penny. We all want to do it as cheap as possible but do you want a ok product or a great product that has a multitude of accessories available for it. I'll take the best I can get. I love mine but may need to change the mounting rack to the Wompus rack to get some more room for the pillion. RDL backrest stole some of her room.

'We all want to do it as cheap as possible but do you want a ok product or a great product'

You have to appreciate cost is a factor for many motorcyclists.

Many of us originally got into motorcycling because a motorcycle was the only form of transport we could afford. They weren't a hobby but a necessity.

I'm sure there are more affluent hobby riders who could throw $900 for a trunk.

Ask anyone to value something they own with a view to sell, and the majority would overvalue. How many times have you seen something for sale and thought the guy must be nuts asking $20 for something you wouldn't give $5 for. Take for instance the guy on here who tried to sell me his used Matuza trunk for $60 then wanted $30 for the rack plus shipping. Can't blame the guy for trying I spose, who knows there may be some one mug enough to buy it off him for that price.

If you're asking $20 for something and the best offer you get is $5, then $5 is what it's worth.

Without a second thought, If I had a fat bank account I'd have gone to Kawasaki and bought theirs for $1300.00 + tax and shipping. I don't, so I live within my means.

If you guys have that sort of cash available.........enjoy it...............many of us don't

I do appreciate what these things cost but do I want to settle for something less or work to get what I really want. I'll work to get it the way I want it the first time I do it. I hate doing things over.

Obviously, this won't sell to someone who is content to mount a $79 Mutazu trunk on their bike. But someone who wants a quality item they can be proud of and not justify their choice by saying "it's good enough" will get a great accessory to the bike here.

Hey look, if you've got the $700 cash go for it. Your cash to do with as you please. Be happy.

He asked the question "Am I asking to much for it, $650 plus shipping".

No takers?................. I'd say yes.

I'd like a quality pickup, a quality van to transport my disabled relative, quality clothes, eat out, take vacations and all the rest of the stuff you can do cash if you have it. $1000 trunk for my bike. New windows for the house, replace the temperamental washer. Get the rotten fence replaced.

Heck nothing more I like than quality stuff. I want to be proud of it

You've got to try and take it in.......... we do the best we can with the cash we have.

I wouldn't knock you for spending $1000 on a MC trunk, enjoy the cash and spending it.

I got the best I could afford with what cash I have available and I don't really give a shit what you think of my trunk or how much cash I have.

You got to stop looking down your nose at people with less than you.

redgreynomad many put the same trunk you have, on their bikes and love it. Some have had bad luck but that happens with anything.

I hope to have one just likes yours one day as I will feel much better spending 200ish dollars as apposed to 600+ dollars. :-)

It is to each their own. I drive a Toyota car because it's awesome and reasonable cheap. Is it a Cadillac? No, but it cost 1/3 the price and will last twice as long. :-)

safe riding all!

I want a Harley and I want my wife to get a girlfriend, but until I get DAMN rich, neither of those things are happening!

RedGrey, I am not speaking for Scott (CJ) but I sort of know him through many posts on this forum. He is a good guy, but he may be at a place in his life where he can afford to be a little more selective than maybe you and I. He likes quality things and works hard to pay for it. I do too but I have other things I have to spend some of my play money on so I have the Nomad and do little things to her as I can. Believe me, CJ is a great asset to the forum and please don't take it personally. After all, he rides a Harley and you know how those guys are.
