There's only a couple of routes from Phoenix to Tahoe that make sense. One is to go to Vegas and go north, the other is go toward L.A. and go north up 395 through the Sierras. I'm leaning toward the latter in order to beat the heat. Both routes are almost the same amount of travel time, only a few minutes difference. Either way, looks like a two day ride for me to get there. Not too bad.

That's funny, You are avoiding the heat and I'm wondering If I'm going to hit snow.

Going to Tahoe I can leave early in the AM to try and get through the Palm Springs area before it gets too hot. After that, it won't be too bad. The stretch of I-10 from Phoenix to Riverside is 344 miles of nothing but desert.

Coming back is a different story, when I came home from Crescent City, it was 105° by the time I hit Riverside and 113-115 from Palm Springs all the way to Phoenix. Very little shade an not many places to stop.

Scott,

You can always come over to Ontario on Friday, then ride up to Tahoe with Us.

Finally got around to making my reservations. Went through the hotel for a better rate than any of the on-line booking agents.

I talked to Dawn @ 530-544-4131.

She also told me reservations may start to become hard to get if anyone waits till after the end of February, beginning of March time period.
