Spending it ain't hiding it. I am sure plenty folks bury coffee cans full of cash. It's spending that reveals the truth.

Has Ray picked his bike up yet?

Just wondering. He only had a couple days where the temps wouldn't have been torture for the long ride he would have had to take to get it home.

I am amazed the dealer didn't go ahead and collect it when the sale was made. I typically buy my cars from Wisconsin dealers (much better dealers to work with) and they always nail me with the IL sales-tax when I buy the thing.

Illinois is in such bad shape they need their money upfront; but if they owe you, you can just forget-it. They will get it to you whenever they want.

Some businesses here have not been paid yet for services they provided in 2014. Geez... what a mess.

Hope you get it soon. Riding season is here now.

If you buy a vehicle in MN and are not going to license it here they do not charge you sales tax for your state. I guess we are fortunate that we do not pay sales tax on food or clothing, but I am quite certain that will be changing soon. Now that gas prices have come down the Democrats want to raise the gas tax by 16 cents per gallon.

May be it depends if it's a bordering state? It also may depend on financing too. When I bought my BMW, I used BMW financing and if I had bought it in another state, I would have paid taxes in my home state through BMW. If I pay cash or other financing I would have to pay it myself. Bordering state may do enough business that they collect the tax. I bought a car in New Jersey and paid the NY sales tax there. YMMV.
