2nd Attemp Darkside / Success !

Well I picked up the 195/60-16 Dunlop Sp5000 yesterday. I can honestly say, the sidewall on this tire is definitely stiffer than the General Altimax. Tire went on ,NO Problem. Took her out for it's maiden voyage and to tell the truth, I didn't notice much difference from a MC tire as far as handling. Takes the corners fine and I don't get that feeling that the bike wants to right itself out of the turns. I do know I like the added traction and the way it soaks up the bumps. It's still @ 40psi, but when I get a few more miles on it I'll start playing with the pressure. So far so good.

God, I might have to eat my words on this Darkside thing.

That's why I always say "don't knock it unless you've tried it". Enjoy the ride Dave!

I ordered my replacement Dunlop SP5000 yesterday (second one). I put it on at 11,000 miles and I just rolled over 34,000 miles. There's actually still a little tread left on it too.

I run 28 psi in mine. It seems to have worn pretty evenly and I like the handling there.

Dave, I don't know what the terrain is there but if you have some mountain twisties you can power through that will tell the story. You come back happy from that ride and you'll have no problems

I KNEW!, I should have done this.

So many choices. Oh well, next time for sure. Can't believe I feel this way, but I honestly can't wait for my bran new rear mt to wear out.

Going for my 3rd DS tire this spring. My experience has been all positive using the same SP 5000.
