2018 Indian Roadmaster

Just came back from the Indian Dealership. Had a testdrive with the new 2018 Indian Roadmaster here in germany.

What should I say ? I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT THING ! ! ! Just need the money to buy it.

The exhaust sound, the handling, etc. A lot more things are really good, BUT what the hell was Indian/Polaris thinking to sell such a bike without a heelshifter from the factory ? WTF ! I mean, you can buy one at extra cost, but why not standard in this price range ????

Here in germany the roadmaster starts at 32.000 EURO ! Which is today about 36.549 US-$ or 46.066 CAD-$ !

Just to let you know.

So, if someone here in germany give me the enough money for my Voyager, it will be sold. Not because I have to, nor is someting wrong with the Kawi, it is still a good bike, BUT I love that Roadmaster much more after the testdrive.

Cu,
Sven

The styling doesn't do it for me. Not a fan of that genre.

That day, it was only 68°F or 20°C outside. Took one hour to get to the dealership with my Voyager. Mostly highway and intersate/Autobahn roads and a litte city roads. The Voyager was warm to hot as normal. The Roadmaster was a brand new, only 1 mile on the odometer and smelled new after a few miles. IN my opinion the Roadmaster was running way cooler than the Kawi. But that is just my feeling at this outside temp. Could be different at higher outside temps, but dont know.

Be careful buying from polarass!
They have a history of stopping manufacture of motorcycles without warning.
I love my Victory and will ride it till I can't get parts but Most Vic owners feel betrayed by polars.

My buddy has a 15 RM and we demo rode a 17, amazing motors, tons of torque. I rode a venture star a couple months ago and it didn’t hold a candle to the RM. I do like the star frame mount fairing and all of the storage. RM has a lot of storage also.

Forget the 2017 models here in germany. They are running like crap, no power, no sound. Why ? Due to the german emission laws.

Dont know, what they have done with the 2018 model, but comparing both years is like day and night. The actual ones sounds great, runs great ( and also cooler) more torque and more HP.

Only speaking for the german/european models.

Heavy, slow, runs hot, expensive. Belts require replacement every 30K miles and it uses 20w-40 oil. Not exactly popular. It's the only one listed in the manual I saw. Kind of parochial. In it's niche it's a player for sure. Good luck with it and many safe miles.

Not my kind of niche.

Especially since it is made by Polaris

Exactly, that is what I'm saying.
Polaris pulled the rug out from under us Vic riders without warning.
They may do the same with Indian if they get another brain storm.
I will never buy a product from Polaris again, many Vic riders feel the same.
