Another Custer rider down

Hi everyone, hope everybody made it home. We just made it back to Oklahoma. On Friday after we left we slammed into a deer at 70mph in Nebraska, we spent the next 3 days in an Osh Kosh NE hospital. My wife suffered a broken wrist, broken fingers, massive bruising and road rash even after getting run over by the trailer we were pulling. I have a shattered shoulder, all the ribs on my left side broken in multiple places and snapped the top off my tibia were it connects to the knee. We are home now licking our wounds, and I am looking forward to the next ride, triexd to ride it off the uhaul but couldnt get my left arm to function. The nomad suffered very minor damage, mainly cosmetic, after the impact our friends behind us said the bike righted itself and pulled to the shoulder and parked itself as if waiting for us to ride again. We hope the other rider that was injured on his way home is well, and that everyone else made it home safely. We had a wonderful time meeting and riding with everyone and look forward to riding with you all again. Long Live the indestructible Nomad

Really sorry to hear this. I'm glad however that your injuries weren't worse even though they sound pretty bad. Will pray for rapid healing for both you and your wife.

Damn, that really sucks. You go all that way and there's animals all over the place and then you hit one on the way home. Our prayers are with you and the wife my friend.

Vic, I'm sorry to hear of your mishap but happy that you are both alive and kicking with very little Nomad damage. Prayers going your way for a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear that you and your wife are alive Vic. Damn deer are getting to be like flies, thick and everyone hits one. Even thou you have some serious injuries, it could have been much worse. Good thoughts your way for a fast recovery.

We had hoped no one else would have any problems. Sorry to hear about the accident and very glad to hear you are home healing now.

It was a pleasure to meet you on the ride to the Badlands. Hope we'll run across each other again. In the meantime, the both of you take care and heal fast.

PS: I was the one the had the oil leaking from the filler-cap... it was a bad o-ring as you suggested. Just thought I would let you know.

Vic, I am so sorry to hear this. It's easy for me to say "you were lucky" but it really could have been a lot worse. You and your wife take care of yourselves, and I wish you both a speedy recovery from your injuries.

Victor, that's way too bad hearing about your get off. I know you had planned a much longer trip, and it was cut short considerably.

A major break like you are describing on your leg will have you hurting a while, in addition to all the ribs. Best wishes for your wife and you on mending back up. I can't imagine the psychological trauma, as I don't remember my big bike get off. It must have really been a hell of a ride.

Very sorry to hear about this, mend quickly.
