I was not going to post about it. Didn't want to get a few people cranked-up about it. But thank you Gibby.

I took your advice on the color combo instead of getting what I was thinking of. I believe in the long-run you will be correct.

I am completing the paperwork this morning. Just about to leave in a few minutes.

Too bad it will be a few months before I get to ride it.

That picture doesn't look like Illinois, just saying.

I have this as my desktop. I wonder if we have similar tastes.

Looks like SW Illinois where the cactus and tumbleweed grow.

Congrats on the new bike, Greg. I took one out for a test ride a couple months ago and it was fantastic!

Could load her into your trailer and head south for a long weekend, I sure would be tempted if I had a new bike.

I know you aren't taking delivery until it warms up but if you do, load her up and come down for a visit. After today, the weather is supposed to be great for a couple of weeks. And I'm off until the 2nd of January.

That would suck to buy a new bike and not be able to ride it for 3 months or more. Just sayin'.

Thanks guys. Several bikes were considered.

A new Indian was on the list, but they lost out when they didn't include a trunk. A big mistake on their part in my opinion, because they might have sold another bike this year.

All in all, the many changes to the Limited for 2014 made to improve the ride and handling, and the fit for my large-frame body, it was easy for me to choose another Harley. (Sorry Dave, but I never had the problems you did. I loved my '09.)

Looks like where I would like to be riding it now! I looked at the amber whiskey/vivid black; but opted for the red after long consideration. Various reasons why.

Given the choices out there for tourers, this is the only one that fit me. The '14's new frame changes made a big difference for me. An Indian would have been a consideration if they only had a trunk and a dealer on this side of the planet.

Don't think that hasn't been a consideration sometime between now and winter's thaw.

Mitch... I would love to be able to do that, however my time schedule probably will not allow that to happen... unless I find some clever excuse. I am trying to come up with one now...

Dave and anyone else can have at it with their Harley bashing if it makes them feel better. It will fall on deaf-ears and a smiling face.

It certainly does suck -- except it is more like 4-months... not three -- unless I haul it down to Mitch's area.

Lastly, the dead of winter around here is a good time to buy a bike. They are very open to negotiating when the snow and ice covers the ground.
