I stole your idea Gibby and took a half day off to go riding today! It was great at 60 degrees with sunny skies!

Been riding to work all week, mornings are a little chilly, but highs have been in the 40's

With a heavy heart I have been forced to put my bike away for the winter. Fortunately, it is stored at my work in a nice cozy heated spot. We had a light snowfall last weekend which brought out the salt trucks that spread salt mercilessly. I checked my odometer after a good wash and wax to see the final tally for the year. I am happy to report that I traveled 20,851 smile filled miles this season. I had a great time at the NCR Regional Rally in June and also at the Antlers Rally in October. I will be going to OK again next year to visit Vic and all of my new southern friends. My 2012 Victory now has a total of 28,114 miles on her, all with me twisting the throttle. I am planning on doing a few small mods over the winter and making plans for the National in June. Any of my NCR compadres still riding be safe out there, cagers are NOT looking for motorcycles this time of year.

Gibby,
It was nice meeting you and the rest of the NC region members this past June. It was a lot of fun ridingwith you guys!!
As for us, your southern neighbors, we have not seen the salt truck yet, even though they are ready to roll! We are going to have a high of 61 with cloudy sky today but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 63. Middle of the week itis supposed to cool down again. Around that time I will put the bike in the shed since I will be gone for a while and dont know what it will be like when I get back.If we have a winter like we did last year I can easily pull it out when I get back and keep on riding!! I bought the bike a year a go around Sepember with about 9500 miles on it. It has 26500 miles on it now, thanks to the mild winter we has last year and the group of people I met on here!
I know it is a little early but if I dont get the chance to do it before mtravels, I would like to wish you all a very Happy holiday season and thank you for a year filled with great memories!

We had about 14" of snow over the weekend so riding is certainly over now. The older I get the less I like winter, sure wish I could convince my wife to move somewhere without such drastic weather changes. This is looking out my front door yesterday about 3:00 p.m.

Not here, but it is a brisk 43 degrees today now. It's supposed to reach 65.

We haven't any snow yet this year and I was riding up to last Thursday. Cold doesn't bother me, as long as the roads are dry no problem. But i was doing a project around the house and ended up fracturing my wrist. Soooo, now next week it will be 52 and I can't ride--well, I shouldn't ride :-)

Sorry to hear of your mishap Jen. Glad that you had still been riding even in the cold. I thought that you guys around Chicago got hit pretty hard with snow a week or so ago.

Lake effect snow, not far enough out in the western burbs to effect me at all. We really need the snow but doesn't look like we will be getting any soon.

May I ask why you need the snow?

Drought. Farmers need it bad, didn't get enough rain this past year either.

We are in the same predicament, not enough rain or snow the last couple of years. Crop harvest was down 30% - 70% last season. Easy to see the affects of drought when you go to the grocery store.
