Oil Filter Question

Anybody know if a Kawasaki oil filter, Part # 16097-0010 will work on my '06 1600 FI Nomad? I've tried a couple cross reference sites but don't find that exact number. Thanks.

I couldn't cross reference it either but it did come up as an OEM filter for a 2015-2017 Kawasaki Mule Pro.

The OEM filter for the 1600 Nomad is 16097-0008. It superceded 16097-0004.

Most of us here seem to use aftermarket filters. Gadgets Page has a fairly comprehensive list which saves us from the confusion of sorting through all of these Kawasaki part numbers besides most of us have brand preferences anyway.

Regards!

Looks like that part# is for a Kawasaki Mule. Cross references mostly show -128 e.g., KN-128 and HiFlo -128. None of my cross references go to a 1600 Nomad. Of course that does not mean it won't fit it.

I have used Hiflo HF-198 that cross references to Victory and I used that for my Nomad. Everything is the same except the 198 is longer.

Yeah, I got yhe Mule reference too, but couldn't get the -0010 suffix. It seems to be the same size as the OEM and aftermarket filters, but I'm leery of trying it and causing damage. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Why risk it when you can get a k&n online for 5 bucks. Even if a filter fits, that does not mean it has the proper back flow preventers, etc to serve your motor properly. Nomads need that to build pressure.
