Day ride to Lake Whitney

Since the temps were supposed to be in the mid-70's today, Ann and I took off for a nice long ride. She's been want to go see Lake Whitney a little ways south of here, but we've never had the time until yesterday.

Couldn't have picked a better day. A light breeze, plenty of sunshine and little traffic. We took off down 67 and headed toward Waxahachie, TX. Took business 287 down to a turn off right before we got into town and took the back roads.

Stopped in a little one-horse town for lunch at a mexican place, with authentic mexican Gorditas (I had 3 - I'm a pig, I know). Lunch was great, and the mexican girl taking care of our check broke out into a big smile when I spoke spanish. :)

The lake was great. Did a little fossil hunting and actually found one to take back to the kid (he's a rock hound at 11 yrs old). Took highway 56 to 174 back to Cleburne, TX, then 67 back home.

About 200 miles total for the day.

For your viewing pleasure - pics!

Us dismounting at the park:

Now she's getting miffed that I'm taking pics of her! ;)

Too bad! Had to take one more...

Pay no nevermind to the ugly mug here...

Now that's a good lookin' machine right there...

Cruising up highway 56...

With the Lovely Ann enjoying the ride too!
