Lookout Mtn ride near Denver

I went for a ride yesterday up the lookout mtn road just outside of Golden, Co. yup, the Coors place :)

Here is a Google earth view of the road.

Here is a view of some of the nice curves coming down from the top.

Here is a reflection shot of some nice rock formations.

Same spot

Here are two mirror shots, they might look the same at first glance, but they are in two different places, going separate directions.

This is another set of switch backs near the bottom.

This one shows Denver off in the distance.

And this one pays homage to the Coors brewery.

This is a shot of some "house deer". They were sitting under the eves of this house, which is in the neighborhood at the bottom of the road.

It was a fun ride, though I've done it a few times prior. It was one of the first days in the 80's this spring, it was a week day so there wasn't much traffic. It was a great ride.

Dan...Beautiful pictures!!! Just one question....the pic of the 'switch backs near the bottom'...Was your Nomad straddling the rail there to get the pic? I didn't see any of your signature parking jobs...just thought maybe...........

Nice pics Dan, looks like a great ride. I have paid homage to the Coors Brewery myself, in the fresh beer room. Mmmm!

No Sue, I was standing on it trying to frame the shot to include all the curves.
A car full of girls drove by while I was standing up there an made cat calls at me. I had to settle for that satisfaction, not the usual got the bike in a difficult spot satisfaction. :)

It's certainly worth doing Ells. If you go during the week, during the work day, there are mostly bicycles not cars up there. Makes for a good ride, not a parade.

I could maybe do it on a long lunch break, quite long but would be worth it, maybe Friday.

Dan, Got it, will do. Takes me about 20 minutes to get the US 6 and Lookout and could take a couple hours give or take. Lets talk before you try taking any short cuts once we get there!

Awesome pics. I'm a big Broncos fan, and I go to a game every fall. I visit the Coors brewery every year I'm there. Gotta love the free samples!!! Looks like a great place to ride bike too.

so dan, How do you like those metzlers now? It seemed like at first you weren't too thrilled with them. I just bought some and I'm getting them put on today.

Ells and I were discussing it at a stop yesterday on our lunch ride. I decided that I get so used to things, that the only way I can really compare them is right after a change.

Right after, they seemed very stiff/hard. By now they seem fine. See what your impressions are right after. If they do seem stiff, if your like me you'll get used to them.
