Bike is not charging

I went for a short ride yesterday, and everything seemed fine until I was almost home. The bike stuttered, and misfired then smoothed out. It did the same once more until I was home, then after I parked it for a couple hours, it had a dead battery. After charging it started right up again, but I checked and seen that it is not charging.
Something has quit working, and I'll try to find the problem later on today.
