New to Forum and Vulcan Nomad
I joined the Forum today, as I have just picked up a 2004 Nomad 1500 FI from South Carolina. The previous owner(s) were kind enough to totally farkle this one out, so all I gotta do is ride it.
 Spot lights, batwing, rear case, whitewalls, and every conceivable bit of chrome has already been added to the black beauty.I have ridden Japanese scooters since 1967. Started with 55cc Yamaha that I bought from the paper boy, and have long since lost count of how many more. But they include every type of riding EXCEPT trials. I toured 44 U.S. states and 5 Canadian provinces on an '06 Yammy FJR, and now in my 70s, I want to do a little more long-distance before I hang up my helmet. About all you see around my neck of the woods is Harley baggers. Too much money, and no better bike than the Vulcans, I figure. Plus I can appreciate liquid cooling and shaft drive. I look forward to learning all I can from you boys and girls about this bike, before doing some 1000-2000 mile loops later this year. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

#1 - Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the VBA forum
#2 - That is a sweet looking ride! You're right, the previous owners decked it out nicely! #3 - You've no doubt done a lot of riding. Hopefully you'll make it to at least all 48 lower states and all 10 Canadian provinces before you're done! #4 - Congrats on still riding in your 70's. I hope to be doing that when I'm at your age and beyond.

Harleysaki................ That's what my Harley buddies call my bike.
Congrats on the new scoot, one of my best friends will soon be 77, and he still rides strong. We do at least one long trip a year (2000~4000 miles). Hope you have many more miles before you hang up the helmet.
