Kawasaki rear gel seat

Looking for a replacement for standard rear passenger seat on our 2008 Nomad. Wife is complaining of seat being too hard on long trips. Does anyone have the Kawasaki rear gel seat? Dealer and customer service cannot give me the dimensions on the seat. Looks like it is also wider and gives the rider seat a little backrest. I would have to pay a restocking fee if she didn't like the seat. Don't want to change the rider seat.

This might work, and sorry I can't point you to a specific site/link.

I found some pliable/non liquid gel pads of generous sizes for reasonable prices in the $35 to $70 so price range depending upon size. Sorry I did not save link...

Next, I talked with an auto upholsterer adn they said they would install such a pad on top of passenger seat, adn recover it for $65....(I would supply the gel pad) They said they'd shave/shape the pillion pad to my specifications as well as part of the price..

Might work?

My wife likes her Butt Buffer pad. On long trips we add a sheepskin. Buttbuffer.com is where we got the pad

Check out Spencer Motorcycle Seat Mods.

He modifies the original seat with either gel or a newer type of pad called Supracor "LD". Prices are reasonable.

I bought an OEM seat off a 2005 Classic on Ebay. It has the gell in it. It is made by Saddleman.
I only bought the drivers seat but maybe the passenger seat is gell from that year Classic also.

Kawasaki rear gel seat

I just did a google search on the phrase

Gel seat for motorcycles

And came up with 8 or so sites, and within the sites, several subcategories and found a number of very nice get pads adn other options in the general ragne of $30 to $75 and some more expensive..
Paticularly like one that is 17" x 14" by 1/2 inch thick...(I am interested in teh riders seat..)
Regards,

I have had some experience with a gel seat on another bike. Truth is, I didn't find it all that helpful. Many good suggestions here and many archived discussions on seats. From experience, though, whatever you decide to do, add a sheepskin and you'll be happy no matter what seat choice you make.
