'new' reloader
Well new to me anyway. I bought a used Dillon Square Deal B set up with 44spl/44mag dies. I have a Lyman Tru-Line Jr press that I've loaded 44mag on for many years. This will make that chore much easier.
I also plan to get a shell plate and dies for 380 so that I can feed that little beast and get some practice in. I bought 1000 rounds of 380 at a recent gun show and decided that I don't want to pay full price for any more ammo. Now I have my brass polisher (an old 4 qt electric ice cream freezer laying on its side) turning 44 mag cases in the garage. I'm really looking forward to using the Dillon press. They are considered by many to be the top of the line progressive presses on the market. Lifetime warranty to the current owner. Let the fun begin!!!!

You can't get any better in my opinion. I have one particular SDB in 45 acp that i've used for 25 years and untold tens of thousands of rounds. I've had to send it back 2x for minor issues. Each time they'd fix and install upgrades free.
No better company IMO. |

I find it very interesting that Dillon provides a lifetime warranty with every machine, no matter who owns it at the time. Says a lot for their confidence. There sure are a lot of folks who consider them to be the best reloaders on the market.

I'd buy a Dillon if I wasn't spending so much on the scoot. I've tried a couple far inferior brands with zero consistancy. I had one that wouldn't seat the round at all. (Wilson? Wilkins? Worthington?) I might see about buying one next year as I tend to go through a LOT of ammo. I've averaged about 300 rds/month until the last couple months as I've been working more hours and spending more money on the Nomad.

Once the bike is finished (HAHAHAHAHA...like that's ever gonna happen), I'll go back to 300+/month. I like to shoot and it keeps me good at it. You know the saying...if you don't use it, you lose it.

My RL450 is due for a good workout. Stockpile is getting low. The Dillons are great machines.

At one time I reloaded tons of ammo for my 44mag. I burned through hundreds of rounds a week and was a VERY good shot. Those days are long gone. Probably could not hit the broad side of a barn from inside the barn with the doors closed.

Shooting and loading thousands of rounds from the early to late 70's is the reason why I can't hear anymore. Did years of competition shooting then and was pretty darn good at it. Nobody wore hearing protection back then except the wimps. And all of the wimps I shot with can still hear a fish fart.

Well,,,,my killer deal might be so good after all. The side plate on the press is busted off of the ears that mount it to the press. The operate rod and accompanying hardware for the powder measure are missing. There is a note in a prepaid return envelope that the white block in the press needs to be replaced with the blue block in the envelope in order to maintain the factory warranty and the white block sent back to the factory in the enclosed envelope. The white block is still in the press and the return postage is dated 1988. I may get to send this back and find another one.
My first bad experience with E-Bay.

Did the Ebay add mention any of these problems?
Geez Bud, I think this press was put on Ebay by that rat bastard who stole your adapter design just to piss you off.

It is all good after all. The seller neglected to send a couple of key parts. One that makes the powder measure work for instance. I bought one today and it is perfect. Then when I told the seller what was missing he remembered where it was and is sending it to me.
Also I had contacted Dillon about the chute that was broken by the UPS apes and they are covering it under warranty and sending a new one. I think I like these guys. I bought a low primer warning system and set up the press and after fine tuning a few things reloaded 40 44mag rounds. This press is slick. I also picked up a new tool head and 380 coversion kit so that I can get set up for reloading 380 ammo. I plan to do a LOT of shooting.
