??? From the Computer Stupid

I'm working on being computer illiterate. I notice on the contents page for each forum there are several columns, all but the 1st two are labeled. Why not the 1st two, and they have pictures where the other don't, why. Some of the pictures look like manila folders, some on fire, some not, some burning red and some yellow. Can someone please explain the what and how come?
Thanks for your time

Sonny, the folders with yellow flames have a lot of replies. The ones with orange flames have even more replies telling you that you will be missing something great if you don't click on that topic.

And in case you didn't know, the blue "new" button will get you to the first reply that came in after you last looked at the thread. So if you read a bunch of replies, then get back to work like you should, then the boss leaves and you come back to KAWANOW. Just click on the blue button and it will take you to the first reply that came in after you had to try to look busy and clicked out of it when the boss was there.

I learn something new every day. I had no idea that you could click on the blue "new" button.

Now I know....

...and knowing is half the battle.

When the boss isn't looking, and just for fun, go up to the top of any page and look for the dark gray bar just under the KawaNOW logo. It has several words in it. Such as "Home", "Help", "Search", etc.

Click on the word "Help." That will open up a Proboards Tutorial. Go through the whole thing and you will learn a lot about how to do stuff on the forum.

Also, just a little lower on the page are a bunch of items in Yellow. Click on KawaNOW Forum FAQ. Read through those for a bunch of good information.

Thanks Dan. Seems like every time I get near something computerized, it let's me know I was born 100 years too late. And what's worse, I do most of this on my flippin' phone. I generally don't use the help buttons because I don't know what the terms are that they use. And phred, thanks, I feel a little better.
Thanks for your time

Thanks Dan and Bob that explains a lot that I didn't know. I knew about the blue flag but that was about it.
