have extra quick-releases for hard bags

I bought the screws and knobs from McMaster-Carr for the quick-release bag fix on Gadget. It works great, but I have some left over since I bought a package of 10 screws and I only needed four. If you want four, I've already pushed the thumbscrews onto the 80 mm cap screws. Pay the postage through paypal and they're yours, the first person to ask.

What size screws did you get? I ordered some and I'm not sure they are going to be long enough.

McMaster-Carr, here are the links. The first is for the cap and the second is for the 80 mm screws: Look for the yellow highlights on the catalogue page.

If the links give you trouble, just go to www.McMaster-Carr.com. The part numbers are, for the caps, 91175 A660, and for the screws, 91292 A212.

I got all this from Gadget.

Oh I read previously that they did fit perfectly, THX, bolts are just pressed in not epoxy?

Bolts press in to the caps, no epoxy needed. I used light taps on the end of the screw with a hammer, laying the cap flat on a workbench. One thing you want to be sure of is that you turn them hard when you attach your bags. If one of the screws is loose, it will vibrate out. Fortunately, there are two on each bag, so the redundancy will save you from disaster as long as you open your bags now and then. Mainly, just tighten it hard and it will stay in fine.

Note that the bolts listed are for the new style Nomads, 05 and up. They are longer than the bolts for the 04 and down Nomads. The bolts for the 04 and down Nomads are 45mm, where the bolts for the newer Nomads are 80mm. This information is from Gadget's page.

I used the same bolts on my windshield to make it quick release. Just cut the slots according to Gadget's page and replace the original screws with the new ones. works great. It comes off in seconds so I can clean behind it and goes back on just as fast. I cut the slots with a dremel, but a hacksaw would work.
