left cover lock/2006 nomad

probably a long shot, but does anyone have a lock that would work on the left side cover -- somehow the lock nut vibrated loose and lock fell off, apparently going down the road, as all that's left is the lock nut inside the cover, and cover is just held on by the two rubber prongs on the front.

Here's the Kawasaki part #: (from cheapcycleparts.com)

Lock-Assy, Pad 27016-5182 $40.33

I wouldn't waste my time going to a dealer for this, they aren't going to have one in stock. Order it online from a place like cheapcycleparts.com or bikebandit.com.

Keep in mind this will be keyed differently than your ignition/saddlebags.
