TIRES??????????????

Changing your own tires isn't as bad as it seems, the hardest part is getting the wheel off the bike. Then once the bead is broken its like changing a bicycle tire.

TIRES??????????????

Be careful with the Metz 880's. At one time it sounds like they were the best tire for our bikes but since they started making some in Brazil it sounds like they may not be the high quality they once were.

I am ordering an E3 tomorrow (2003 1500). About $155 plus $35 for mounting if I take the bags off.

Thats exactly why Im trying the Dunlops this time around. My last set of ME880's doesn't seem as good what they used to be. Although the mileage seems to ok since I have 20,000 miles on the front and 12,000 on the rear. Its just that wobble that is getting worse.

TIRES??????????????

It's funny, dealers around here are still pushing the Metz 880 as the best tire, but reading this and other forums, riders are so far ahead of them with the real experience it is not even funny.

Very few sites are recommending the Metz anymore, most going for the Avon Cobra, or the Dunlop E3.

TIRES??????????????

The tires in my pics are ME880's. they are the ones that are giving me the wobble I think. The new ones I just bought are Dunlops, a D404 on the front and a Cruisemax on the rear. Both are WWW.
Elite 3's are only available in blackwall or I would have bought those instead.
I think there is another tire maker called Maxxis that makes a WWW tire, but I don't know anything about them.

well, about 2hrs. ago i ordered the metz www at the dealership. we'll see what happens. tire opinions are so subjective because of the variables with riding habits, what part of the country, temp, etc. so with that said, i thank you and all who use this forum. it sure is a blessing and a lot of fun to talk to everybody about these wonderful machines. you, as all of you have awesome rides. i'll be posting pics soon. also ordered kawa's billet chrome front and back fender tips. can't wait.

TIRES??????????????

I heard somewhere that Pirelli is now owned by Metzeler or vice versa. I don't know how true that is though.
